The stars turned out to support Stephen Colbert after his inglorious cancellation last week. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Weird Al Yankovic did a parody of Coldplay’s “kiss cam” incident. (Yeah, I had to look it up, too.) As the camera panned the audience, it landed on certain couples; like frequent guests Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, NBC late night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, and fellow Daily Show alums John Oliver and Jon Stewart. Oh, and Adam Sandler was there with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (pictured here) and some guy from SNL I didn’t know.
As for the not-yet-famous, here are my final answers to the Colbert Questionert. (Part 1 is here.)
Sunday 7: the Colbert Questionert, Part 2
- Favorite smell:?
Fresh baked bread. One of my favorite memories was from my audiologist (i.e., pre-Navy) years. I’d put a loaf in the oven, then laid down on the floor in the sunshine. When I woke, I was warm and toasty, my cat was lying beside me, and the smell of the bread permeated the apartment. - Least favorite smell?
Belly button fuzz. - Exercise: worth it?
Yes! Do I do it? Not enough! - Flat or sparkling?
Sparkling! If I could just get the cork out of the bottle. - Most used app on your phone?
“To Do,” mostly for groceries. I’m a baby boomer with no kids to teach me anything modern. - You get one song to listen to for the rest of your life: what is it?
“Forbidden Friendship” by John Powell. In How to Train Your Dragon, It plays during the scene where Hiccup names and tries to befriend Toothless, and ends with Hiccup passing the “maze test” and Toothless putting his nose in Hiccup’s hand. I just learned yesterday that it’s a combination of “Hiccup’s Theme” and “Toothless’s Theme.” (If you click on the song’s link, you’ll likely get a YT ad. Just skip it when you can, and listen. Stay for 4 minutes if you can.) - Describe the rest of your life in 5 words.
Learn something new every day.

John Powell was robbed!
